Set on a tranquil half acre bush block, Arnold’s Place is located on the road to Simson’s Landing where the township of Nelson meets the Lower Glenelg National Park. The Glenelg River is just 300 metres away, with easy access to the boat launching ramp at Simson’s Landing and the adjacent picnic area and swimming beach.
Arnold’s Place is boat-friendly. It sleeps up to 6 people and is fully equipped for a self-contained holiday in stylish casual comfort. A beach house with a bush outlook.

Nelson is a small town at the mouth of the Glenelg River about 3 kilometres east of the South Australian/Victorian border.

Nelson is known as a great place to relax and Arnold's Place is well set up for lazy holidays.
Arnold's Place is a great base for your holiday! Swimming, picnicking, sight-seeing, skiing, bike riding, taking a scenic/adventure drive.
The Glenelg River is perfect for all kinds of activities - with or without a fishing rod in hand. Follow the Glenelg River through the Lower Glenelg National Park. The river is navigable for about 60 kilometres by boat, further by canoe.
Check out the iconic shacks and boat sheds near the Nelson township or upstream near Donovan’s Landing
Further upstream, enjoy sightseeing in pristine wilderness
Skiers have their own designated zones, accessible from Simsons Landing
Elsewhere speed limits apply, making the river ideal for canoes and putt-putt boats.
There are picnic spots at designated landings along the river with picnic tables and BBQs provided - cast a line while the snags cook
You will find 3 launching ramps in the township and several more within a short drive of Arnold's Place
Nelson is also the closest town to Piccaninnie Ponds, best known of the cave diving and snorkelling sites in the Mt Gambier area. Ewens Ponds is a 20-minute drive away.

There are several day trips for you and your boat within easy reach, launching either at Simsons Landing or towing your boat a short distance to one of the upstream launching ramps.
BIKE RIDING
There are kilometre of track around the town and in the Glenelg River National Park for bike riding with suitable bikes.
SWIMMING
Ocean or river, the choice is yours but we have both. Take a dip or enjoy some time with the family at the Estuary beach. Otherwise opt for a swim in the river at one of the many pleasant riverside locations.
